I am experiencing the same bug. Machine is a Trigem Kloss 915A running a
Pentium 4 3.06 Ghz processor. Have a USB keyboard from an Apple
Macintosh G5 attached, with a wired Apple "Mighty Mouse" of the same
vintage. The system freezes completely as described above upon pressing
either the Enter or Return key. Doesn't seem to matter which keyboard
description I choose - have tried "UK Macintosh", "US Macintosh",
"PC-105" and a couple of others. From a few tests, only the "UK
Macintosh" keyboard has the correct key mappings for the other keys (so
that the UK pound sign, Euro symbol, at sign and quote marks are mapped
to the appropriately marked keys on the keyboard) so that would seem to
be the correct choice.

The bug appears only with the OS booting from the HDD by the way. Using
10.04 x386 liveCD there is no issue, everything works fine.

As I'm new to Linux (from previously using a combination of Windows and
Mac OS X) I haven't yet the know how in order to dig around for any
crash log files that there might be which could shed more light on this.
