I've done a suspend as you've suggested, please see the files attached. Luckily, I can ssh into my computer, so I could get some more data. After a resume, the X server is using nearly 100% of the cpu (I could only take a screenshot). I did an strace of the X server, which I will attach too, hope it is of some use. Stopping KDM and restarting it brings back my computer with a normal display.
