Ubuntu.

Your bug report shows that you installed Ubuntu 9.10, which includes
grub-pc (grub2) as the default bootloader.  Your log file shows an error
message from grub1, indicating that at some point you uninstalled grub-
pc in favor of grub.

To restore the recommended grub2 bootloader, you should run the command
'sudo apt-get install grub-pc' from a terminal.
