Mariano, I am very sorry for the delay.
I have two questions for you:
1. if you first installed kubuntu, then gtk-qt-engine was probably also
installed (and perhaps later removed). This may mean you still have the
directory and the file I pointed out (~/.gtkrc2.0, and
~/.gtk_qt_engine_rc.
If indeed they are present could you please remove or rename them & try
again?
2. are you still experiencing the issue?
