can you pass something on to the development team ... I figured out something that could possibly help others. I have a dell 2650 (10 yrs old) it was suggested that I reinstall system files due to this kernel issue. It was suggested by someone in the kubuntu irc. I started the process and ran into the problem of my laptop freezing at the Boot from - Start up screen on kubuntu 9.04. I finally figured out that F6 had some options so I restarted and chose the apic=off option not the noapic option and the install took off. AFter some research I found that this option/command added to the kernel command shuts off some dual core options in the kernel and it allowed me to install 9.04 without any problems. Prior to this, I had to go back to 8.10 then somehow was able to upgrade to 9.04. Please pass this info on because I am not a programmer and don't understand who and how to tell someone what I found. Thank you very much. Jim Harris
