Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: udev

Using ubuntu karmic
The gnome desktop refresh is very slow at 1280x1024 16 bits

migrating to ubuntu lucid drivers did not help,

I managed to find the problem, but not solving it completely
,/dev/dri/card0 was not present, problem loading drm modules

finally, I setted up a custom kernel with agpgart built-in kernel not as
module,and removed unuseful modules.
and now the problem disappears , the drm modules load correctly and graphics
work fine.

this problem was reported to xserver-xorg-video-intel, but it was not a
driver cause, I am posting it here, I suppose it is related to udev, in
order being solved ?
