Am sorry but am still new to Linux..so the method that was suggested to backtrace the actual problem seemed too complex with all the CLI statements that I was hoping for a easier GUI assisted method to trace the error...Plz forgive my ignorance... I reinstalled the whole OS & now Rhythmbox works fine..guess some of the plugins(3rd party from gnome-live website) messed up with the app... Regards Vishnu!
