I attempted to contact the ubuntu-devel list a few weeks ago about
getting memtest86+ 1.70 into Feisty, since it adds support for updated
chipsets, but failed (my email didn't pass moderation three times).
Right now, the current memtest86+ 1.65 fails to detect my Core 2 Duo +
Intel ICH8 chipset.

As a core diagnostic tool, the updates for new chipset and processor
support (eg quad-core) are essential.

Yann Dirson uploaded the new package 3 weeks ago to debian experimental
(patches apply fine), but it takes time to propagate through debian.
Have we missed the window?
