I had the same problem on my Mythbuntu HTPC. I have the OEM version of the nmedia pro-lcd. The lis driver is required for lcdproc to work with this hardware.
I used the updated script provided by ironstorm....it worked flawlessly. -- RFE add "lis" driver for L.I.S.
