I can confirm the behaviour in Lucid is different from Karmic. gcalctool in 
Karmic has a Fun button to store/ edit user defined functions. This button does 
not exist in the version of gcalctool in Lucid.
I can also confirm that the "shift"+"f" shortcut no longer works to edit the 
user defined functions in Lucid.
