you are right - I switched to metacity now - and everything just works - even
faster. No artifacts anymore :-). Thanks for this advice!
for everybody who does not know how to switch: just type in the terminal:
gksudo gconf-editor
and navigate to
- apps
- metacity
- gerneral
there choose "compositing_manager".
before this it is probably a good idea to switch of "Compize" - just go
to the System-Menu, Appearance and at the tab "Visual Effects" choose
"None"
