Mario, You can safely donwload your .deb's (x64 or i386) from this page, and just install them on your Karmic system with a double click. gDebi will take care of dependencies, and all will manage to add a new (really two) new GRUB options, where you can run your tests.
After this, you can start with a 2.6.31-xx kernel, and delete all 2.6.32 reference from Synaptic. Thats all.
