I'm afraid this doesn't work for me on my MacBook 5,1/Karmic with the latest upgrades. Compiling/making/installing the driver 1.0.22 (with or without the patch) breaks sound altogether, and the only way I can make it work again is to go: sudo apt-get --purge remove linux-sound-base alsa-base alsa-utils sudo apt-get install linux-sound-base alsa-base alsa-utils
