alright; got to try this again, compat-wireless-2010-02-12 makes it act
as you described; blinking with wifi traffic, there may even be another
bug where it stays orange for a long time (long enough to indicate that
wifi might actually be disabled if you don't watch the indicator for
changes for at least 10 seconds) though; is the expected behaviour for
this light with this driver documented somewhere? (hopefully next to the
documentation that tells you how to disable it :) or at least make it
act as the windows driver does - blue = rf on, orange = rf off with no
inbetween)

further, i still plan to check out linux-
image-2.6.33-020633rc8-generic_2.6.33-020633rc8_amd64 and linux-
image-2.6.32-020632-generic_2.6.32-020632_amd64
