Examining your DpkgTerminalLog.txt file I notice the following error:
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/linux-image-2.6.31-20-generic_2.6.31-20.57_i386.deb
(--unpack):
subprocess dpkg-deb --fsys-tarfile returned error exit status 2
This usually indicates the deb is somehow corrupt. If you remove this
file, ie /var/cache/apt/archives/linux-
image-2.6.31-20-generic_2.6.31-20.57_i386.deb and retry the update this
should resolve the issue. Thanks.
