This still is a problem on Karmic. A default installation, with a
Brother DCP7025 connected, activates the "Brother DCP7025"
driver. That one prints with the notorious offset. Installing
"brother-cups-wrapper-laser" by hand and then selecting "Brother
DCP7025 for CUPS" resolves the issue.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help debug this.
