Public bug reported:

Hello,

Ubuntu: 9.10 32 Bit

When I put my computer into standby via the gnome button, it goes into
standby as it should and it wakes up, when I push the Power Button. All
works fine. But when I want to shutdown the computer, it does everything
(umounting all drives shutting down daemons), but the computer does not
switch off completely. I hear the hard drive switching off, but the fans
and so on are still running. I will have to switch it off manually.

When I dont put the computer into standby and wake it up again,
everything is perfect.
