You have a relatively old system? If so, there are known performance
bugs if you have the download progress window open and you download a
file for which the server does not tell the total size ... maybe you
can confirm this?

when firefox is working, cpu start to work heavy and at the end firefox crash. 
It's not the first time and sometimes the crash became a system crash
