Surprisingly the problem of the webcam not working on windows is _also_ solved by wiggling during boot!
@ Ryan Steele / Tim van de Kamp: AFAIK , there is no active development of the gspca drivers , since it was earlier done only by one _single_ person [ http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca5xx.html ] and he seems to have now stopped working on gspca :( So our best hope is trying to narrow down the cause ourself :( - Did either of you update the bios for the laptop?
