I agree as well that it is important to have django 1.2 in lucid. 1.2 will be the new standard when it is released. Outdated packages in a distro make using distros rather purposeless. This is the same old issue of coordination for releases in the open source community. It has to be judged on a case by case basis by human beings.
Low impact - The django package does not have system wide dependencies that would cause instability. Django is a highly issolated backage that only effects django web development. As well, the django package will continue to function the same way for the install.Gr Benefit - Keeping lucid Ubuntu 10.04 compatible with the community at large, and not having lucid's django packages be obsolete upon release. -- django 1.2 for lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/505440 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
