Geees will people stop complaining for something they got for FREE? It is like
if you got a present and start insulting the person which gave it to you
because it does not work the way you want. It is certainly okay to point out
things that have some design flaws, but please just try to keep in mind that
1) If there were such a trivial fix, it would already have been fixed
2) You cannot simply swap out something buried so deeply into the window
manager without risking considerable breakage
3) The person(s) who originally implemented the clipboard may very well not be
working on Xorg anymore, hence someone would have to read through the whole
unfamiliar code and understand it, just like we
4) Developers are not our slaves, and calling them stubborn and whatever surely
won't motivate them to give up more of their free time for people insulting them

If we are so determined to see this issue fixed, why not just create a wiki
page somewhere and work together to
- Identify what is wrong with the current specification
- Find out how it works on mac and windows, and discuss what the correct
specification should look like
- Find out how the current clipboard mechanism is integrated with the other
components of the window manager and identify the critical parts which could
cause breakage if altered
- Work on a fix

It is obvious that this is a lot of work, but so would it be for any
developer willing to fix it, and the chances of success are considerably
higher if the 52 people here would spend time researching instead of
writing long, heated comments.
