I will note that while a few Australian government websites will still refer to timezones like "EDT" (Eastern Daylight Time) and "CDT" (Central Daylight Time), these are generally understood to be used within Australia only (such as weather forecasts, when repeating "Australia" constantly would be redundant): http://reg.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/tables/daysavtm.shtml
