Binary package hint: listen
When you try to play a mp3 file with listen, listen will freeze
immediately.The freeze is caused by the restricted gstreamer mp3
decoders missing on my system.
Correct behaviour:
If you use rhythmbox and try to play a mp3 a dialog appears and asks to install
the missing gstreamer decoders. At least an error message should be expected.
