In my fury I had one last go on trying to install the scanner, and now it seems to have worked! :)
Initially, the printer was detected as "dnssd://Photosmart%20C5100%20series%20%5BB92029%5D._pdl-datastream._tcp.local/" I was able to print just fine with that, but scanning never worked as seen in the description of this bugreport. I then searched for a network printer by manually giving in its ip, which configured the printer as: "hp:/net/Photosmart_C5100_series?ip=192.168.0.100" I am now able to scan my documents! This bug is not yet closed though, since out of the box, it didnt work, while before it did.. Didn't previous Ubuntu versions use dnssd? Could that have been the culprit? -- all-in-one printer added in system-config-printer is not found by sane https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432435 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
