I will try to do so next time I do a reinstall. I just did a reinstall with
xubuntu and it went with no problems. My partitioning scheme as follows:

  /dev/hda2 boot
  /dev/hda3 / (ext3)
  /dev/hda4 swap
  /dev/hda5 /usr (ext3)
  /dev/hda6 /home (ext3)

I'm suspecting a problem with ReiserFS or separating /var or /etc in other
partitions. Hope I can help in the future.

Could you please attach /var/log/installer/syslog, /var/log/syslog, and
/var/log/partman to this bug, using the "Add Attachment" link on the
bug's web page? I know you said that you didn't have access to the log
files when you filed the bug report, but can you try to reproduce it and
attach them? They are quite essential ... Thanks in advance.
