Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

I have installed using the alternate iso with the linked preseed-file[1]. After
installation during the first boot of the new system, oem-config-firstboot
crashes. This happens every time i try to boot it. /var/log/oem-config.log
contains a couple of occurences of this message [2]:
Ubiquity 2.1.24 (oem-config)
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/sbin/oem-config", line 462, in <module>

File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/ubiquity/frontend/base.py", line 163, in __init__

ValueError: No valid steps.

oem-config-firstboot prints the following to the terminal:
ERROR: The OEM installer failed. Your system may not be usable yet. Please
report this as a bug to your vendor.

To create a user so that you can use your new system normally, type:

    adduser USERNAME

... replacing USERNAME with the username you would like to use (your first
name in lower case is normally a resonable choice), and follow the prompts.
If this succeeds, type 'exit' to reboot the system.

bash: no job control in this shell
