A workaround is to turn of the balloon notification by setting the
timeout to zero (under the System Tray Protocol tab in the xmms-status-
plugin settings). Unfortunately, there is a bug in the plug-in that
causes this setting to be discarded at load so this value has to be
reset manually at each startup. Included one-line patch fixes this. Note
that this doesn't fix the bug reported but merely enables a simple
workaround.
