Under 2.6.31-19-generic, my Intel PRO/1000 in-built NIC doesn't work.
if I boot to 2.6.31-17-generic it works dandy.

Oddly, under 19, the device appears, but it is unable to actually do
anything -- i.e. `ifconfig` shows it present, but it can't get a DHCP
lease, it doesn't work with a static address, etc.
