Public bug reported: Using kubuntu 6.10 and kde 3.5.6. Desktop resolution is 1280x1024.
Description : I have 5 icons on my desktop : /, dvd drive, dvd writer, home, stuff (in that order). They are located on the left side of the screen, centered vertically. Icons options (right click on desktop, icons) : - Align to grid : checked - Lock in place : checked After I restart the computer, icons won't be at the same place the next time I get on the desktop. One or more icons will go up. It seems that the 'lock in place' option does not work it should. Notice that I can't move icons on the desktop with that option on however it doesn't prevent icons to move away after a restart. If I don't put them back in place they will keep going up with each reboot. Once at the top, right under my top panel, they'll start then to go right. I've seen that bug on the whole 3.5 kde serie (3.5.0, 3.5.1, 3.5.2, 3.5.3, 3.5.4, 3.5.5, 3.5.6). Screenshots : 1. Desktop with icons at the right place : http://paralis.free.fr/pics/snapshot40.png 2. Desktop after a first reboot : http://paralis.free.fr/pics/snapshot39.png ** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- moving desktop icons on kde https://launchpad.net/bugs/90801 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
