- afs+ubuntu desktop 9.1 (dist-upgrade) hang

** Description changed:

  my user use AFS for the home.
  
- if i install Ubuntu 9.1 (whitout  upgrade, and  deintalling pulseaudio and 
gdm ) all seems ok.:
- user make login , and stast x using "startx"
+ If i install Ubuntu 9.1 (whitout  upgrade, and  deintalling pulseaudio and 
gdm ) all seems ok.:
+ user may login , and start x using "startx"from the command line.
  
- if i install Ubunto 9.1 , make upgrade & dist-upgrade (and deistalling 
pulseaudio gdm ) :
- user can log in but i the try to starx the screen becamo black.
- vi ssh i see x get 100% of cpu...
+ if i install Ubuntu 9.1 , make upgrade & dist-upgrade (and uninstall 
pulseaudio gdm ) :
+ user can log in to the console but can not get x to come up using the command 
startx
+ X reports 100% CPU Usage.
