I am not able to boot in to lucid, I can only boot in to my old karmic
installation, therefore I am not able to obtain a syslog file for the
failure to boot from the alpha 3 live cd.
I also didn't actively switch to noveau or anything, I was just under
the impression that nouveau became the default driver instead of nv
for nvidia video cards as of lucid alpha 3. I also believed that
nouveau might be the main problem because fedora uses nouveau by
default and the screen says "no signal" when booting fedora from a
live cd just like it does when I boot ubuntu 10.04 (lucid) alpha 3
from a live cd and because I never had this problem with previous
versions of ubuntu or distros that do not have nouveau installed by
default for nvidia video cards. - Adam
