Public bug reported:

I reported a bug, and it was marked a duplicate... of about a dozen
others. This resulted in my mailbox (and others') being flooded by ~20+
mails of (probably bot-generated) duplicate markings and various other
administrivia. While I understand that it makes sense to send replies
to a bug report to whoever reported it, they don't need to know the
status of every other duplicate of that bug that comes in. Also, as a
"user friendliness" bug, it took me a while to find the "unsubscribe"
area - there doesn't seem to be one on my user page, I had to go to the
specific bug to get out of it.

** Affects: Ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
