Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: checkgmail

When selecting "Français" in CheckGmail preferences, it gives garbage
characters for all special characters. Even "Français" is displayed as
"Français" and the same issue is present for other languages.

If I select it nevertheless, then checkgmail outputs "Parsing of undecoded
UTF-8 will give garbage when decoding entities at
/usr/share/perl5/LWP/Protocol.pm line 114." on the command-line and next time I
will launch it, it won't start, saying
"Can't use an undefined value as a HASH reference at /usr/bin/checkgmail line
3691.
A thread exited while 2 threads were running."

Running Feisty Fawn with latest upgrades, installed from Herd 4.

** Affects: checkgmail (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
