  Hello,

  I use the xorg-edgers PPA and Gnome-Shell on a MacBook 5,1 generation.

- The problem is when I try to connect a external screen (a HP w2207) through
the Mini Display port, the monitor "crashes".
+ The problem is when I try to connect a external screen (a HP w2207) through
the Mini Display port, using a mini display port to vga adapter, the monitor
"crashes".
  Please look at this picture http://tinyurl.com/yb284wj it will explain it
better than I can do.
  The monitor is recognized both in Display and with xrandr

  What I've tried:
  * Enable and disable with Display application
  * Disable Gnome-Shell
  * Disable Compiz
  * Have the screen connected from start. (Doesn't work, bug #529563)
  * Run with the stock drivers from Live-CD, then both screens goes blank.

+ It does work with the proprietary driver.
+
+ Idea: could it be that nouveau sends different signals or such?
