This problem is caused by the RXTX version, not by linux or java. The
solution is add a line to your code:
System.setProperty("gnu.io.rxtx.SerialPorts", "/dev/ttyACM1"); //add
this line ttyACMx [0,1,2,..]
portList = CommPortIdentifier.getPortIdentifiers();
