Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

I have three different computers running Karmic / Ubuntu 9.10 and
Firefox 3.5. All three of these machines experience this problem.

Installed: 3.5.8+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.10.1

Problem:
I frequently use the option to highlight text on a webpage with the mouse, then
right-click and select 'Search Google for'.

Most of the time this works correctly, but sometimes, instead of opening
a new tab with the results displayed in google, the new tab shows only
the ubuntu themed google seach page, with no text in the search field.
When then happens, the new text is not in the copy/paste buffer. Going
back to the original tab with the still selected text and doing a normal
copy fails and the text is not placed into the copy/paste buffer. Even
reselecting text (any text on that tab) will not copy, or work for
'Search Google for'.

If I keep re-selecting the text and attempting to copy, the paste /
'Search Google for' will eventually work after many attempts. Very odd
and frustrating, and it happens to me frequently on three different
machines. I, of course, cannot get the problem to happen on demand, nor
figure out exactly how to fix the problem besides many retries.

When this problem occurs, copy/paste still works fine outside of
firefox.

I never had this problem with firefox 3.4.x under Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty).

** Affects: firefox-3.5 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
