David,
the error in your log indicates that you were using a newer version ( a trunk
version) of Ubuntu One and then went back to an older one? if you started a
client using trunk code, your metadata was migrated and now the system-wide
client can't read it (It's trying to read metadata v.6 which is the new
metadata version). To fix this you can do the following
1. quit Ubuntu One client by selecting quit from the applet.
2. Quit the syncdaemon by running in a Terminal:
u1sdtool -q
3. Back up your Ubuntu One folder. You can use the Terminal command:
cp -r ~/Ubuntu\ One ~/Ubuntu\ One.bak
4. Clean out the Ubuntu One folder (after you make sure your data is backed
up). You can use the following Terminal command:
rm -r ~/Ubuntu\ One && mkdir ~/Ubuntu\ One
5. Remove the metadata
sudo rm -r .local/share/ubuntuone
6. Start the Ubuntu One Client (Applications > Internet > Ubuntu One)
7. Copy a test file into your Ubuntu One folder. Let it sync. If it works
correctly proceed to step 8
8. Put the contents of ~/Ubuntu\ One.bak back in ~/Ubuntu\ One
If you need any help with this you can log onto IRC freenode network #ubuntuone
channel.
thank you,
duanedesign
