Public bug reported: found a bug while updating from edgy to feisty(Herd5)
HW: AMD XP64 3000+ 1GB RAM nVidia Geforce 7300GT DVB-T card: MSI Digital @nywhere I updatet from edgy (with all updates) to feisty(Herd5). With Edgy I got my DVB-T card working and I watched TV with Kaffeine (but gDVB and others worked too). After performing an update with the update manager my beryl-config and my DVB-T card were broken. here is what I found after updating: lspci: http://www.ubuntuusers.de/paste/8158/ dmesg: http://www.ubuntuusers.de/paste/8156/ lsmod: http://www.ubuntuusers.de/paste/8157/ kaffeine: http://www.ubuntuusers.de/paste/8159/ xawtv: http://www.ubuntuusers.de/paste/8160/ vlc: http://www.ubuntuusers.de/paste/8161/ After a while I found cx88-dvb wasn't loaded by default. when I modprobed it, my DVB-T worked again :) so: why weren't the module loaded in feisty by default? ( it was in edgy, AFAIR) ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- MSI DVB-T Card ; Module broken on update https://launchpad.net/bugs/91186 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
