Wow, I just downloaded the OO.org debian source package, and my eyes started bleeding. My sympathy to Chris for having to deal with that thing for all of use!
Any ways... If someone is interested in working on this, I suggest branching the openoffice.org-human-icons bzr branch as a starting point. My impression is that humanity already includes most icons that would be needed.
