I upgraded from Karmic to Lucid Alpha 3 earlier on today and have just
properly rebooted since the upgrade and noticed that the boot splash
appears when it shuts down but not when it boots up (the aubergine dots
thing)!
I'm sorry I cannot provide you with more information at this moment,
maybe within the next few days I will do, although I don't doubt other
people have/will probably experience(d) this problem or similar!
