As I forgot to mention the logs; for starters check $workspace/.metadata/.log (where $workspace is your eclipse workspace) and also look for files named "hs_err_pidXXXX.log" (where XXXX is a number) in your home folder - they may not be there (they usually only appear if the JVM crashes).
