Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: mail-notification
Running Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Alpha 3. I expect these icons running in the
Notification Area to have a transparent background so that they blend-in
with the underlying Gnome Panel
The said white background creates a very ungainly visual appearance.

mail-notification icon inside the notification area has a white background and
is not transparent thereby no blending with the gnome panel. This behaviour
also happens to other icons running in the notification area such as ksensors
and checkgmail.
