Public bug reported: I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 with network-manager (0.8~a~git.20091013t193206.679d548-0ubuntu1) network-manager-gnome (0.8~a~git.20091014t134532.4033e62-0ubuntu1) on a Thinkpad T60 laptop with an atheros wireless card.
Expected: While connected to a wireless accesspoint the connection should be stable. What happens instead: While connected, every 2 minutes an accesspoint scan is issued. During the scan, which takes about 5 seconds to complete, I'm unable to transmit or receive any data. This causes all active tcp connections to require retransmission and makes it impossible to play games over the network. At the end of every scan a line is added to the syslog: Mar 7 13:41:18 bcmpinc-ubuntu wpa_supplicant[1155]: CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-RESULTS Possible solution: Allow nm-applet to be configured such that it does not scan for accesspoints while connected. (See also solution 9 at http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/8326/ ) ** Affects: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- automatic accesspoint scanning suspends active wireless connection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/533771 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
