Public bug reported: I have a Logitech pro for notebook webcam. This worked perfectly with cheese, skype and vlc in 9.10 but under 10.04 32bit (up to date as of 17:30 GMT 7th March 2010) it does not appear to be detected by any of these programs (possibly V4L/V4L2 system not picking it up). So this is a regression in support for this device. The camera is listed under lsusb fine: cris...@loki:~$ lsusb Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 001 Device 002: ID 046d:08c3 Logitech, Inc. Camera (Notebooks Pro) Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
but it is not detected by cheese, vlc, skype or anything else. I am happy to try and provide more information if someone can tell me what information would be helpful and how to get it. It would be nice to have this popular and generally very good camera working again in the LTS april release.
