It appears what is happening is that 1. Connect to server using an authenticated nick 2. Receive message from "NickServ" 3. Click on "Room -> Join New" 4. The "Nickname" textbox has now defaulted to NickServ
I also tried authenticating to NickServ and then having someone sending me a private message to see if this changed t the default nickname when using Room->Join New.
