Imre Gergely and Chuck Short-- Thanks for responding to me so quickly!
It seems to be working now. Here is what I did: Somewhere I found the instructions for creating the user clamav and did that. It did not allow me to complete the install. I had no reason to remove that user, so no idea how that could have happened. All I did was run the update manager. Somewhere else I found that the fix might be to uninstall and reinstall clamav. I did that from Synaptic, No go. Then I did a purge and reinstall via Synaptic. Still no go. Then I did the purge and reinstall again, but did not install clamtk. That worked. Then I installed clamtk. That worked. I checked logs this morning and it does seem to be running. Your command resulted in: d...@doug2:~$ id clamav uid=115(clamav) gid=129(clamav) groups=129(clamav) If that looks OK to you, it looks OK to me. Thank you for being so responsive, Imre Gergely and Chuck Short! :- Doug. -- package clamav 0.95.3 dfsg-1ubuntu0.09.04~hardy2.2 failed to install/upgrade: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/533423 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
