Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Trying to install 9.10 via each of ubuntu, mythubuntu and Super OS (yes
I am aware Cannonical dont offer support for Super OS). All hang at the
same point. ; System reports 'detecting file systems' and flashes every
few seconds.

9.10 was working on this computer previously, only changes since that
time were installing a new LCD monitor, and a SATA DVD drive.

I have no idea how to obtain the files (/var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman)
using the command line prompt.
I have no graphical interface because I tried to upgrade from 9.04, but was
left with a black screen and command prompt.
Now I find the system will not do a clean install due to this problem.

All suggestions to fix involve internet, but at the command line, I have
no net access.

It is unbelievable this problem is not reported, there are dozens of
similar complaints on different forums, including the Ubuntu forum.

** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
