Reopened as confirmed based on availability of required logs.
I was tempted to direct to the kernel, as this was reported as an ACPI
problem, but I'm not sure if that is the right place: the machine
resumes OK, but with a blank screen; the FN-F8 "tweak" then turns the
display back on. It would seem this is an ACPI support problem (scripts
not properly saving/restoring video state).
Therefore, I've left this at acpi-support.
(Andreas, to reopen a bug report, just click on the any of the available
status fields, e.g., the affected package: That brings up the edit
status dialog, which allows you to change the status, e.g., from
rejected to needs info. That's how I made this change.)
