Public bug reported:
Release: Karmic
ATI driver version: 8.702 (labeled 10.2 on ATI site - the current released
version)
Sumary: Installing the driver via .deb packages shows a watermark on
screen
When creating .deb packages for this driver (--buildpkg Ubuntu/karmic),
the xorg-driver-fglrx package contains a file ./etc/ati/signature.
For the 8.70 driver this contained a valid hex string (in the .deb), but
for 8.701 and 8.702, it contains "UNSIGNED". The result of this is the
driver shows a "Testing Only" watermark on the bottom left.
If the driver is installed directly from the .run script, there is no
such issue - the signature file is created properly.
The creation of the signature file is visible in the top, readable,
portion of the ATI .run script.
