TeeWorlds has a packaging problem in Lucid, for which I've sent a patch but it wasn't (yet?) integrated: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/teeworlds/+bug/521633 Try starting with the live cd again, then running sudo gedit /usr/games/teeworlds and modifying BASE_PATH=/usr/share/games/teeworlds to BASE_PATH=/usr/share/games/teeworlds/data in order for the sound to work.
